In March 2024, Nabatara’s Eye Camp gifted clear vision to Sundarban. Over 450 people received free glasses, medicines, or cataract surgeries, ending years of blurred sight.

Partnering with Kolkata’s top eye doctors, we screened 1,200+ patients for cataracts, glaucoma, and infections. Sixty-five surgeries restored vision for fishermen and elders, while 250+ received prescription glasses. Children with vision issues got free spectacles to stay in school. Boats transported patients to camps, and post-surgery care ensured full recovery.

Mobile Surgery Units

Custom vans with portable labs and telemedicine tools allowed doctors to diagnose diseases on-site, saving villagers costly trips to citPortable operation theaters allowed surgeons to perform 120 cataract surgeries in 3 days a first for Sundarban’s remote islands. Solar-powered equipment ensured uninterrupted procedures, even in areas with no electricity.

Child-Friendly Care

Fun vision tests and colorful glasses kept 85+ kids engaged. Teachers were trained to spot eye issues early, preventing school dropouts. Cartoon-themed eye charts made screenings less intimidating for children.

Post-Op Support

Recovery kits with medicines and eye shields were provided. Follow-up visits ensured 100% surgery success, with zero infections reported. Volunteers taught families how to care for recovering patients at home.
